What is the likelihood of a creature like The Shape of Water existing (a cross between an amphibian and fish)? How would such a creature live and reproduce, for example?



The Shape of Water creature is a fictional humanoid amphibian/fish hybrid, and as far as our current scientific knowledge goes, it is highly unlikely that such a creature exists in the natural world.

The concept of hybridization between two different species is not completely unheard of in nature, as there are examples of hybridization between different species of fish and amphibians. However, these hybrids usually do not resemble the Shape of Water creature in terms of their anatomy or physiology.
